Editorial Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

This policy describes the standards and processes behind every piece of content published on The Pampered Paw.

Independence

Our editorial team has full independence over content selection and recommendations. Advertisers, affiliate partners, and product manufacturers have no influence over what we publish or how we rate products.

Authorship and expertise

Every article is written or reviewed by a credentialed contributor with verifiable, relevant expertise — a certified groomer, registered veterinary technician, or licensed veterinarian. Author bios disclose credentials, qualifications, and any potential conflicts of interest.

Hands-on testing

Product reviews require a minimum 30 days of hands-on use across multiple pets where relevant. Test conditions, sample sizes, and methodology are documented and disclosed in each review.

Sourcing

Health, safety, and scientific claims are backed by peer-reviewed research, veterinary professional associations (AVMA, AAHA), or board-certified specialists. Sources are linked in-line wherever practical.

Review process

  • Draft — Written by an expert author with first-hand experience.
  • Editorial review — Fact-checked and copy-edited by our editor.
  • Specialist review — Health-adjacent content reviewed by a licensed veterinary professional.
  • Publication — Reviewed annually or sooner if a product changes meaningfully.

Corrections

When we make a material error, we correct it transparently, note the correction at the bottom of the article, and notify our newsletter when warranted. Report errors to editorial@thepamperedpaw.example.
